Courtnee Roberts
For over a decade, Courtnee Roberts has been in the classroom as an English Language, Social Studies, Journalism and Music teacher. She has previously taught in Kentucky, Abaco, and most recently at Windsor School Old Fort and Albany, with specialization in middle school education. Roberts has trained and taught at the IGCSE level in the Cambridge curriculum. She has also had high passes at the BJC and IGCSE English level. Courtnee is also a part-time lecturer at the University of The Bahamas´ English Studies Department.
Prior to starting PES, Roberts was a journalist for 10 years starting out as a features and news reporter, which has honed her love for the written and spoken word. She holds a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of the Cumberlands, a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Messiah College, and a diploma in Spanish from the CLIC Universidad in Spain. She is a licensed teacher with the Kentucky State Education Board. In her spare time, Roberts enjoys running half marathons, reading, restaurant hopping, and traveling. She is the mother of two active children, a university student, and a high schooler.
Thalia Perez-Ginevra
Thalia Perez-Ginevra has lived and taught in The Bahamas for more than a decade after leaving the managerial corporate world to become a teacher. Before creating PES, Perez-Ginevra taught at schools in Miami, Florida, Westminster College in Nassau, and Windsor School Old Fort and Albany, as an English Literature, Global Studies, Modern World History, Religious Studies and English teacher. She has held leadership posts as a guidance counselor and exam coordinator, securing some $2.3 million dollars in scholarships for high school seniors from 2016-2020.
Perez-Ginevra has taught both the Ministry of Education and Cambridge curricula, and has high passes in the BJC, BGCSE, IGCSE, and AS and A Levels exams. She has also tutored adults for the GED program in the U.S.
Perez-Ginevra holds a Bachelor's degree in English from Florida International University, and is a Certified Paralegal with credentials from the same university. She has a Principal´s Training Center Counseling certificate (from FIU) and a teaching certificate from Miami Dade College. She is also fluent in Spanish. When not teaching, Perez-Ginevra enjoys cooking for her husband, traveling and enjoying a good book at her most favorite place: the beach.
